EAST JORDAN — At a recently opened physical therapy and sports rehabilitation center in East Jordan, the operators aim to prepare clients for an active role in pursuing health and wellness goals.
Active Recovery Physical Therapy and Sports Rehab is located at 240 S. Lake St., Unit 6, in the same shopping plaza as Family Fare supermarket.
The center is co-owned by physical therapist Jaleesa O’Neal and athletic trainer/physical therapy assistant Kristi Nowka. They have a combined 14 years of experience working at similar practices in Northern Michigan, and Nowka also serves as an athletic trainer at East Jordan High School.
Active Recovery can assist clients with post-injury rehabilitation, balance assessment, movement assessments and athletic training, and also can help in tending to ailments such as low back and shoulder pain. In such cases, staff can assess clients to identify any physical dysfunction involved and develop personalized exercise routines to help address it, with a goal to prevent further deterioration.
